From Dump to Destiny

God has opened a great and effectual door for Bob Ricci World Ministries in Nicaragua. We are very greatful and honored that the Lord has chosen us to be one of His tools among the people of Nicaragua. We plan to go through the door boldly and confidently. Thank you for your assistance in making a difference there for Jesus. Our goal is to Equip, Encourage, Empower and Elevate live into their God-given purpose! The ways God has given us is multi-faceted and wonderful. We are able to help in the short, intermediate and long-term needs of these precious people.

The main church God has us currently working with is in the trash dump of the capitol city, Managua. These people came to the city for work, found none, gravitated to the trash dump where they built their homes. They created work by salvaging through the trash for recyclable items and food. It is a difficult existence but through God we are bringing hope and making a difference.

BRM is sending 10 children from the dump to private Christian school in Managua. This is a huge undertaking and a great blessing in a country where many cannot afford public education. Most of the parents of our children are unable to read and write so we believe that "from the dump to their destiny," we can reverse the poverty curse in the family and change the direction of future generations. We believe that the Word and education will change destinies and equip these children to make serious impact for Jesus as adults in Nicaragua, Central America and around the world!

Programs

Sunday Feeding Program: Recently, three young children from the dump tragically died from eating food the scavenged from amongst the trash. This must be stopped. Every Sunday after church, our people and their children will be fed a wonderful, nutritious meal. This is a great way to show the love of Jesus in a practical and powerful way and build the local church.

Clothing Distribution: Annually, BRM collects clothes from churches throughout the USA. These items are then shipped to Nicaragua where they are distributed among our church and orphanages that we are helping. In January, 2005, after an extensive battle through customs, we were able to distribute over 4 tons (8,000 lbs.) of clothes, shoes, baby supplies and medicine to this nation. This brings credence to the many outreaches we do in the city of Managua. Our most recent outreach resulted in many salvations including prostitutes and Sandinista war leaders. Many healings also occurred as people followed the preaching of God's word. We also had Fiesta Feeding Days with food and games for the children.

Leadership Training: Drawing upon Bob's extensive experience as a Business owner, Bob imparts business and leadership skills and principles necessary to lead, prosper and advance God's kingdom in business and ministry. Great guest speakers from the USA accompany Bob in these powerful meetings. Over 50 Pastors attended the first Pastors luncheon. The business conference was very successful and many testimonies of breakthrough were given by community leaders.

Building

BRM has already built a church/community center for an orphanage in Nicaragua. Now, we are looking to build the following.

School in the Dump: The church already has the land next to the church. It needs a school. BRM plans to erect a school in the dump so children can be taught the basics necessary to be productive in society. In a country where many adults cannot read or write, many children cannot afford to attend public school. This will make a huge impact in changing lives for the Glory of Jesus.

Orphanage/Leadership Training Center: BRM plans to erect a multi-story orphanage and LTC. Here children can live, eat and learn about God, His ways, principles and purpose. This building will also include a meeting center to train local pastors and business people.
